Rafael Zagolin
GAME PROGRAMMER
BIOGRAPHY
Since childhood, my love for video games has been unwavering, guiding me through countless gaming experiences that have shaped my passion for game development.
The spark to understand the intricate art of creating games ignited in 2011 while engrossed in Perfect World, an MMORPG. Curiosity led me to experiment with crafting private online servers, albeit through tutorial reliance and a lot of trial and error. Despite the initial confusion, that experience marked my initial foray into game development. The driving force behind it all was a simple yet powerful desire: I yearned to witness people playing a game I had a hand in creating.
In 2017, post-high school, I embarked on a Games Design Program at IMPACTA. However, a thrilling opportunity to explore Canada emerged, leading me to enroll in an English program at SAIT and put my game design aspirations momentarily on hold.
Returning to Brazil in 2019, I resumed my pursuit of game design, enrolling in a Game Design Bachelor Degree program at Anhembi Morumbi University. Over four enriching years, I immersed myself in diverse facets of game development, collaborating on university game projects and participating in game jams. Along this journey, I secured an internship as a game programmer, transitioning into a role as a gameplay programmer upon graduation.
Post-bachelor's, I ventured back to Canada, this time to Vancouver Film School for a specialized program—Programming for Games, Web & Mobile. The experience broadened my horizons, allowing me to connect with numerous talented individuals in the gaming industry and acquire invaluable expertise.
